Product levies can be an effective way of raising revenue to fund programs which address the end of life impacts of products.  It should however be recognised that a levy alone will not solve the issue.  Firstly we need to find effective ways to address the major project impacts, which for cigarettes is littered butts.  The Taskforce is overseeing the implementation of new innovative projects to help solve the issue.
